Kelly Wearstler and ARCA have spent the last several years circling the same fascination: stone, and what a careful hand can make it do. Wearstler's studio, a multidisciplinary practice spanning interiors, product and furniture, creative direction and media, is known for its instinct for texture and scale. ARCA, working in quarries and ateliers across the world, is one of the most thoughtful stewards of natural stone. Their collaboration, NUDO, translates the ancient craft of weaving into monolithic marble: blocks modeled digitally, then carved by hand into furniture and objects that look improbably soft. Each piece holds a quiet contradiction - knot in stone, gesture in weight - and refuses to choose between art and function.
