Cj Aslan

CJ Aslan is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and creative director born in New York and based in Los Angeles, whose practice centres around world-building — developing immersive systems of objects, symbols, and cinematic narratives that merge materials least expected to coexist.

Her debut furniture series, Designed Objects, presents works that resemble furniture but resist fully becoming it. Each piece is fabricated from stainless steel with 147 hours of hand-set spikes and gemstones — rooted into the metal surface through an intuitive, meditative process guided by instinct, density, and visual tension. The result mirrors mineral formations and organic growth: hard where softness is assumed.

Alongside her studio practice, Aslan is the founder of ASLAN WORLD, an internationally recognised collectible jewellery and accessories label stocked at Dover Street Market, Slam Jam Milano, H. Lorenzo, and Nubian Japan. She holds a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
